Alcove release notes
Every version of Alcove for Mac, iPhone and iPad, newest first. Updates are free for everyone who has the app; the one-time unlock covers every version.
Version 1.1
- Attachments sync through iCloud. Files and pictures you attach to a task, or paste into a note, now reach your other devices through your own iCloud, and open there straight away. See attachments on every device.
- Paste pictures and files. Paste a screenshot, a photo or a file straight into a note or a task's attachments, on Mac, iPhone and iPad.
- Three new papers and three new accents. Ash, Lilac and Peach, and Copper, Teal and Plum, in light and dark.
- Boards in the menu bar (Mac). A Boards tab in the menu bar card, boards in floating windows, and a setting for which tabs the menu bar card shows.
- Calmer dialogs (Mac). Every question Alcove asks is drawn in its own style, sized to fit.
- The reminder type everywhere. Choose quiet, a notification or an alarm from every Remind menu.
- Quicker adding on iPhone. Return adds the task and starts the next.
- Smoother floating lists (Mac). Ticking, deleting and undoing slide smoothly, and a floating window opened from the menu bar shows the resize pointer at its edges.
- More for AI assistants. Assistants connected with your approval can set reminder types, add and read files and pictures, and work with boards. See connecting an AI assistant.
- The search bar and Today screen follow your theme, and many smaller fixes.
Version 1.0
- Quick add in plain words from any app on the Mac with Option-Space, with the day, time, length, repeat, priority, list and tags picked out as you type.
- Speak tasks: say everything at once and get separate tasks.
- Today, Upcoming and a calendar with Day, Week and Month views, an hour grid and an all-day row.
- Repeating tasks for any rhythm, and reminders that can be quiet, a notification or an alarm that rings through silent mode on iOS 26.
- Notes that do the maths, with tables that total themselves.
- Kanban boards where a card dropped in Done is finished everywhere.
- The Mac menu bar with a live count, and lists and notes that float above your other apps.
- Widgets, Controls, Siri and Shortcuts on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- AI assistants through a local MCP server, only with your approval.
