Alcove is a to-do list and notebook that lives in your Mac's menu bar, with apps for iPhone and iPad. It's made by one person, Basil.
Why Alcove exists
I wanted one quiet place for the tasks, notes and plans that were scattered across a reminders app, a notes app and a pile of sticky notes. The menu bar was the answer: it's there in every app, so the list is always one click away and never lost behind a window.
Everything else followed from wanting that place to stay calm. Quick add takes a sentence rather than a form. Notes do their own sums. Boards show where a project stands. Progress shows what you finished, with no streaks and no scores.
What I promise
- Your lists are yours. Tasks and notes stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. There's no Alcove account, no Alcove server holding your data, and no analytics or tracking. The privacy policy has the details.
